Today I’m pleased to formally announce the launch of nya.pub – where you can get your own subdomain for your internet-connected service or site, powered by FreeDNS.
Really, I have been providing the nya.pub domain to be used as one of many domains available in the shared domain registry on FreeDNS since May, 2015, when I registered the domain. I originally registered the nya.pub domain to use in order to give Rin Today, rin.nya.pub, a Tumblr account which now has over 2300 followers, an easy-to-remember URL. Today, though I’m formally announcing the service and inviting people to register.
What could you use nya.pub for? Anything, really. Register a URL for your own Tumblr, a Minecraft or Mumble server, a short URL to your website, direct it to your VPS, etc. You can even use it to link to a local resource – like a computer on your network. Set a redirect to 192.168.1.10 – and it will work on your local network (but obviously not if you leave home).
For more information about the service, please visit the new site nya.pub or learn more at FreeDNS.
Would you like to see step-by-step updates on how to configure certain servers? Let me know by leaving a comment below, or shoot me an email at trdaisuke@nya.pub – I would be happy to put together a guide.
