Dai’s Muscle Memory Rotation for Orphanage Donations (60 DUR)

Important note: Patch 5.1 completely changed the crafting system. The content and macro below has not been edited to reflect current crafting actions. Its use is no longer recommended. It will not work as it did in 3.5X.

FFXIV Patch 3.55a introduced Zhloe Aliapoh and the new Custom Delivery feature for endgame crafters. Although it’s late into that patch and many endgame crafters may have developed their own way of tackling the problem of getting the collectability of that item up to the required levels, I still wanted to share my rotation – both for people who may currently still be working on a reliable rotation, but also because I suspect this new 60 durability may be something FFXIV devs were testing out for 4.0, and 60 durability crafts may become more common, as it hits at a somewhat finnicky durability level when compared to our crafting abilities.

The goal of this rotation was to maximize collectability from normal quality vendor-purchased “Orphanage Donation Component” in fewer steps than Rath’s Rotation.

This rotation requires absolutely no less than 396 CP (and I would recommend 432 for increased reliability). If you have at least 415 CP, you can hit 432 with Stone Soup, available for purchase from the Gold Saucer for just 37 gil. I have tested this rotation and found it to work with Craftsmanship of 972 and Control of 954. I haven’t yet tested with lower values. (If you are able to test with loser values than these and have feedback, leave it as a comment – I appreciate it!)

One note on this table – in Steps 6 & 7 I have listed “Hasty Touch (or Basic/Precise)” – and marked an 18 CP cost. This is merely for accounting for the CP that will eventually be required. What I would actually do is hang onto those 36 CP and try to upgrade a Good or Excellent proc to Precise Touch, or, if you don’t get sufficient procs, use them as Basic Touches in steps 21 & 22. But I included the CP cost there in my calculations to ensure that at no point in the process we would go negative in CP.

Additionally, if it’s unclear, the column “Good or Ex proc” refers to what I would recommend doing with a Good or Excellent proc if one should come up in that step. “ToT” refers to “Tricks of the Trade” and “Precise” refers to “Precise Touch” – IF you have the CP remaining. For each ToT you take, you can use one extra Precise Touch.

See “One note on this table” in the 4th paragraph if you’re confused about why a Hasty Touch would be listed as costing 18 CP.

Please let me know if you have thoughts or feedback on this rotation. I have been using it since hitting max rank with Zhloe and found it to be quite reliable, only failing to hit the top tier of reward once due to atrocious Hasty Touch failure RNG. The other thing to watch as you remix this according to your Good or Excellent procs, try to avoid wasting durability in the three steps after Manipulation, and try always to preserve a durability value ending in -5 prior to the end of Steady Hand 2 or you might lose a step of Careful Synthesis 2 and thereby fail to finish the craft.
